Linda Marcel’s compositions have been performed internationally in: New York City, Moscow, Russia, Rome, Milan, numerous places in Italy, Potsdam and Hamburg Germany, Oxford England, Malaga and Seville Spain, Bordeaux, and Paris France. As a music professional who completed her doctorate of music from Columbia University, she has dedicated her work to the collaborative process of performing arts events worldwide.
Linda is an active adjunct faculty member at the University of Rome -Tor Vergata, Italy teaching for the Master in Sonic Arts Program.
Additionally, Dr. Marcel is the director of International Arts Educators Forum, (IAEF) a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of contemporary music, multimedia and dance. IAEF has supported many performances in New York, Rome, and France.
She is the Director of Development for the New York Composers Circle, and a member of the New York Women Composers.
Her works support digital media, dance, drama, electronic and acoustic music performance.
Linda has presented at numerous conferences in North America and Europe. She was awarded the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development - Excellence in Teaching Award, and was chosen for the MCFP Princeton University Fellowship Program. While a professor of music at Bergen Community College (1982-2016), she founded the Paul Marshall Memorial Scholarship and Ron Mazurek Scholarship fund.
I find inspiration all around me: from the many project collaborations with others, to the beauty of the natural environment. Making music representative of the inspirations surrounding this world and beyond bring meaning to life.
